Role IntroductionWe are seeking a Cargo Sales & Services Officer to join our Cargo Service Delivery team at Auckland. This role supports the execution of local cargo commercial strategies while ensuring the smooth delivery of day‑to‑day cargo operations. You will play a key role in delivering the high standards of safety, reliability, and customer service expected by customers, regulatory authorities, and Cathay.
This position is a permanent, full time position, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast‑paced operational environment, has a strong customer focus, and takes pride in delivering premium service.
Key ResponsibilitiesRevenue Generation (Commercial)
- Support the implementation of the local Cargo Business Plan in line with defined KPIs.
- Assist the Cargo Manager to achieve revenue and ancillary income targets.
- Support capacity management and commercial pricing activities to help maximise flight revenue.
- Champion Cathay cargo products and provide consistent, premium product solutions to customers.
- Processing of local supplier invoices for accounts payable purposes
Customer Service and Delivery
- Respond to customer enquiries and manage offline and e‑booking requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Build and maintain effective day‑to‑day relationships with customers and stakeholders across all sales channels.
- Provide proactive shipment updates and service‑led solutions to maintain customer confidence and loyalty.
- Deliver high‑quality customer service at all commercial touchpoints.
Operational and Service Support
- Support cargo reservations, flight documentation, and post‑flight reporting.
- Prepare flight documentation for crew and customs as required.
- Coordinate with airport operations, ground handling agents, engineering teams, air traffic control, vendors, and flight crews to ensure smooth cargo operations.
- Monitor supplier and Ground Handling Agent performance and escalate issues when required.
- Support cargo operations during disruptions, weather events, diversions, and irregular operations.
- Assist with station administration, training activities, audits, and quality assurance programmes.
- Carry out Operational Duty Holder activities when specifically required.
Safety, Compliance and Continuous Improvement
- Ensure compliance with Cathay and regulatory safety, security, quality, and procedural requirements.
- Contribute to meeting operational performance targets through active participation and oversight.
- Support digital initiatives such as e‑Bookings and agent self‑service functions to improve efficiency and customer experience.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

• Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required
RequirementsAcademic Qualifications
- High school graduation
- Tertiary education or equivalent in a related field is a distinct advantage
Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience
- Customer service experience with a strong service mindset; cargo industry experience is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail with good analytical and problem‑solving ability.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic operational environment.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with CHAMP CargoSpot systems is an advantage.
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast‑changing operational setting.
- Ability to be flexible with working hours.
