RiverTech, LLC professional driver performs warehouse and distribution operations, material handling, storage, loading/ unloading, packing, and retrieval of equipment IAW SOPs. Carries out delivery, pickup, and transfer of equipment per SOPs. Carded couriers possess final Secret clearances to transport classified information at the SECRET level. Possesses DOD Courier Cards to transport classified information. Operates large delivery box trucks.
Responsibilities
- Operate straight-in-line trucks with airbrakes and truck-trailer combinations, typically with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 10,000 to 32,000 pounds, over varied terrain and roadways to transport cargo, personnel, and materials.
- Serve as a delivery driver, ensuring vehicles are not overloaded by verifying cargo documents and conducting visual inspections.
- Receive inbound cargo, screen for prohibited or undesirable contents using commercial-grade X-ray equipment, and transport materials to host and tenant activities on a daily basis.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials using equipment like electric, gasoline, or diesel-powered forklifts (rated 4,000 to 10,000 pounds), including special attachments.
- Operate receiving docks to direct trucks to unloading bays and manage freight, material, and mail entering bases.
- Handle sensitive or classified materials securely, adhering to DoD protocols for transportation and screening.
- Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- In an IT context within DoD, duties may involve delivering specialized equipment like computer systems, peripherals, or network infrastructure to support information technology operations.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Pre-employment physical required; must be able to lift and handle objects over 50 pounds frequently, with heavier items using equipment or assistance.
- Valid state drivers license and Class-B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) required; government forklift license may need to be obtained.
- Subject to random drug testing and background investigations; unfavorable results may lead to removal.
- Must possess a REAL ID or equivalent for access to federal facilities.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Work involves physical effort such as standing, stooping, bending, and operating in tiring positions; may require rapid pace for extended periods.
- Exposure to various working conditions: indoor/outdoor, hot/cold/damp environments, dirt, fumes, and potential hazards like explosives or contaminants; personal protective equipment (e.g., steel-toed shoes, gloves) may be required.
- Driving occurs in all weather and traffic conditions, with risks of accidents, cuts, bruises, or falls during loading/unloading.
