Lay Up Press Operator 1st shift

Job Description:

Job Summary:
The duties of this position are performed to produce composite sandwich panels. Assemble constructions on the lay-up table, loading and unloading the charges at the panel press, and controlling the press operation sequence for different panel constructions, trimming panels and stacking for shipment.

Summary of Duties:
tVerification and withdrawal of materials from cold storage, allowing them to acclimate per the specification.
tMaintain storage conditions for temperature sensitive materials.
tCut materials to the correct size per the work order, lay up the cut materials into a panel construction per the work order.
tTransfer the panel constructions into the platen press that has been adjusted to the correct temperature per the work order.
tOperate the press to perform the correct burp cycle for optimum removal of volatiles.
tRemove the panel constructions from the platen press after they have cured for the specified time.
tTrim panels on CNC machine to work order specified dimensions and palletize completed panels for shipping.
tOther tasks include completion of production documentation, quality control and housekeeping activities
tRequires little to no experience, but requires willingness to learn and perform to standard expectations
tConducts routine tasks as directed
tMinimal supervision with some latitude for independent judgment
tParticipate in operational improvement activities

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience: Prior manufacturing experience preferred
Computer Skills:
\tBasic knowledge Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). All employees are expected to utilize company email and other company business applications.
Other Skills:
\tMust be willing to work as a team member
\tEffective oral and written communications skills
\tDemonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and assignments with attention to detail
\tProblem solving, well organized, detailed oriented and accurate.

Additional Preferred Skills:
Forklift operation certification and operation may be required.
Position requires some lifting with mechanical and human assistance
