NOW HIRING! Prep Cook, Victoria. We are seeking experienced prep cooks with a passion for quality food to join our amazing team! The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced environment and have a strong focus on quality and execution. Located on the seaplane docks of Victoria’s beautiful Inner Harbour at 950 Wharf Street, the Flying Otter Grill offers diners amazing west coast food, a relaxed atmosphere and incredible views!

Responsibilities and Expectations

• Food prep (sauces, vegetables, fruits, etc)
• Food ordering • Inventory
• Maintain a sanitary and clean work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned by store management
• Strong worth ethic and ability to work with team members in a fast-paced work environment
• Accuracy and speed in performing duties
• Understand proper food handling and food safety standards
• Maintains friendly, fast, and accurate service ensures an unsurpassed guest experience and ensures all food items are consistent with company standards.
• Ensures the restaurant is up to company standards regarding cleanliness, neatness, and guest accessibility. Works as a team player to support other employees in completing their tasks.
• Completes all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications/Assets

• Food Safe certificate required
• Previous kitchen experience, an asset
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull up to 11.5 kilograms (25 pounds) without assistance
• Must be self-motivated and possess a high level of energy
• Must have strong organizational skills and display high attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment
• Must have a passion for food and a willingness to learn
• Ability to be an effective member of a team
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
