Position SummaryReporting to the Crew Chief and the Maintenance Manager, the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Apprentice’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, servicing, inspecting, repairing and performing mechanical maintenance to an aircraft before it is considered airworthy.Personal CharacteristicsMechanical aptitude, trainableStrong knowledge of basic hand toolsHighly flexible, with the ability to respond quickly in a dynamic environmentProfessional and respectful, with a positive work attitudeTimely with a high level of commitment to on-time performance is essentialMotivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamEffective verbal and written communication skillsHigh level of respect, understanding and regard for First Nations communitiesKey Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesPerform Scheduled and Unscheduled maintenance on aircraftMarshal and tow aircraftReconfigure aircraft interiors from passenger to cargo to medivacMaintain a clean and organized work environmentPerform additional duties as assignedMinimum Education, Experience and CertificationsHigh school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalentMust be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizationsIndigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an assetWorking ConditionsPhysically able to perform all listed job dutiesTravel by aircraft and other means as required by roleWork in a shop environment with full range of movement including, but not limited to, bending, sitting, standing, lifting to a maximum of 50lbs, pushing and pulling dailyRepetitive tasksVarious shifts at a fast pace in order to meet service level requirements of the airline
