Job Description We are seeking a talented individual dedicated to quality and efficiency in aprototype machining atmosphere. Must be capable of manufacturing state of the art aerospace products in a high mix -low volume model shop. As a BAE Model Shop Team member, you will utilize modern 3,4,5 axis machines, CNC lathes and Mill-Turn equipment. You will work directly with design engineers to turnconcepts into manufacturable products
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key Responsibility and functional Knowledge listed below satisfactorily. Analyze specifications, setup and operate machine tools, fit and assemble parts, fabricate and/or repair mechanical assemblies, build fixtures and jigs needed to perform specific tasks. Must be able to follow directions and work with limited supervision. Must be willing to work with and train subordinates. Must observe all company policies and procedures, including safety rules and OSHA regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.Must be physically and medically qualified to wear required personal protective equipment as prescribed under OSHA standards. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand/walk/use hands to handle or feel/reach with hands and arms/climb or balance/stoop/knell/crouch or crawl/and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to sit.
Sets up and operates manual and CNC machines. Capabilities to include programming CNC machines along with editing pre-programmed parts as needed. Meets standard times on routers and reports to supervisor when deviating from standard time.
Machinist assembles, repairs, and fabricates metal parts by operating mechanical equipment. Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units. Being a Machinist uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure theproper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product. Takes measurements of material and selects appropriate machine for the process. Additionally, Machinist may provide training to lower-level machinists.Typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Machinist has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
This position is first shift on a 4/10 schedule-Monday through Thursday
