ROLE OVERVIEW

As the Manager of Crew Resources, you’ll take the lead in overseeing the development and implementation of crew schedules to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant staffing for all company flights. You will oversee future planning, current changes in the schedule This role involves analyzing historical scheduling data to enhance our forecasting and drive continuous improvement in crew planning. Reporting to the Vice-President of Flight Operations and working closely with Flight Operations leadership, you’ll be at the heart of our operation—ensuring we’re always ready to fly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the Company’s Safety Management System
  • Develop processes and ensure quality assurance on decision-making procedures for schedule allocation, considering regulations, operational needs, and optimizing processes.
  • Create optimized schedules for crews to minimize downtime and maximize productivity, while ensuring compliance with regulatory, company and collective agreement rules.
  • Ensure that crews meet all relevant competency and recency requirements for every flight.
  • Evaluate operational results and adjust plans to improve efficiency.
  • Act as the go-to resource for AIMS software utilization.
  • Coordinate and address interdepartmental requirements, including the efficient management of urgent or last-minute requests.
  • Validate end of bloc calculations for crew duties and rest.
  • Remain abreast on flight and duty time regulations.
  • Analyse data to forecast schedules to minimize operational disruptions and identify crew impacts and costs.
  • Integrate planned training events in collaboration with Technical Standards and Supervisors.
  • Track crew absences.
  • Plan and administer vacation bids for crew members.
  • Monitor crew scheduling performance and ensure that quality standards are met.
  • Manage conflicts within teams to maintain a harmonious work environment.
  • Develop and maintain team guidance and training materials.
  • Liaise with transport companies to organize transportation for flight crews.
  • Ensure travel and accommodations are provided when needed.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Vice-President of Flight Operations or required by the operational needs of the department.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU AN IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • A degree in aviation management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of practical and technical experience in crew planning and management, with a strong ability to plan and coordinate operations while ensuring quality and production.
  • Expertise in AIMS software.
  • Solid understanding of the CARs 703, 704, and 705.
  • Proficiency in French and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and administrative acumen.
  • Capacity to work with minimal supervision, facilitate meetings, and provide training.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a professional attitude.
  • Promote collaborative and positive work environment to develop talent within the team.
  • Set professional expectations and monitor employee performance.
  • Familiarity with flight monitoring systems.
  • Ability to resolve operational issues and coordinate with various departments.
