ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM

As Lead Software Developer, you will be responsible for technical direction, design, development, and delivery of applications and systems using existing and emerging technology platforms. You will guide junior developers and non-technical business colleagues through the software development lifecycle, ensuring best practice and delivery of solutions on time and within budget.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Take ownership of technical design and implementation for complex applications or system components.
• Act as a technical mentor and advisor to other developers, providing guidance on best practices, coding standards, and architecture.
• Drive solution architecture discussions and make technical decisions within the framework of the broader system architecture.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to clarify requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
• Ensure code quality through comprehensive unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices.
• Explore and integrate new technologies to enhance the product and team capabilities.
• Participate in technical estimation, planning, and risk assessment for development initiatives.
• Provide technical expeWHAT YOU WILL DO: rtise in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues in production and development environments.

ABOUT YOUR SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer sciences or engineering. Professional programming certification in a mainstream programming language is a plus.
• Minimum of 8+ years software engineering experience in a development capacity preferably using a mainstream Object-Oriented language such as Java.
• Experience in:

• Fast-paced, agile, software development environment
• Planning, describing, and implementing software architecture within an existing framework
• Java, from a Microservices perspective
• SOA: XML Web Services, SOAP, REST, including security considerations
• Object-oriented code design
• Relational databases from Java; MS SQL Server advantageous
• Understanding and integrating APIs
• Spring framework, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes
• Messaging systems like Kafka, IBM MQ, AMQ etc.
• Full stack web development (Angular/Apache Webserver/Apache Tomcat/MS SQL Server preferred)
• Networking concepts and design patterns
• Version control / source code management (GIT preferred)
• Coordinating multiple technical streams to produce a complete solution
• Technical estimation (story points, comparative estimation)
• Independent and team-based work in a multicultural environment
