Purpose of Position
The Inflight Operations Manager is responsible for leading the operational support to Flight Attendants. This role serves as the primary liaison between the Flight Attendant group, Inflight and multiple operational departments, ensuring seamless day-to-day support and long-term strategic alignment with safety, service & safety standards, and operational efficiency. The Manager works closely with Safety, Scheduling, Fleet Program Directors, Global 5 Senses, and other stakeholders to address operational challenges, drive continuous improvement, and advocate for the needs of the Flight Attendant group. This position also oversees communication trends through the Inflight email inbox and other communication channels, identifying challenges and leading efforts for mitigations and continuous improvements.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Oversight
•Leads the Inflight Operational Support team to provide responsive, effective support for Flight Attendants.
•Promotes a culture of collaboration, problem-solving, and proactive communication within the team.
•Provides guidance and leadership on operational issues, ensuring consistent and timely resolution.
•Fosters a supportive environment focused on Flight Attendant success, safety, and well-being.
Systems Design
•Assess and develop new processes and tools for the operational support.
•Work in close collaboration with BI&A and other internal stakeholders to track, measure, analyze and automize the workflows.
•Identifies and analyzes recurring challenges to develop and implement solutions.
Safety & Operational Coordination
•Partners closely with the Safety department to ensure Flight Attendant safety remains the top priority.
•Advocates for safety-focused decision-making in all aspects of Flight Attendant operations.
Scheduling & Contractual Compliance
•Holds regular meetings with Scheduling leadership to address contractual compliance and day-of operational issues.
•Collaborates with Scheduling to proactively manage irregular operations and mitigate disruptions to Flight Attendant assignments.
FODM & On-Call Support
•Partners with the FODM team to establish and maintain an on-call support structure, ensuring FODMs have access to Subject Matter Experts.
•Provides operational guidance and ensures clear communication channels are available to support Flight Attendants.
Fleet Program Coordination
•Maintains consistent engagement with Large Cabin Fleet Program Directors regarding fleet-wide changes and modifications that may impact Flight Attendants.
•Ensures Flight Attendant operational considerations are addressed in projects and initiatives.
•Advocates for proactive communication and minimizes operational disruptions related to aircraft changes.
Inflight Communication & Issue Resolution
•Oversees the Inflight email inbox, ensuring timely responses and tracking communication trends.
•Collaborates with internal teams to address root causes and enhance the overall Flight Attendant experience.
