Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

       Responsible for assisting the Director of Maintenance and direct members of staff to ensure they carry out all maintenance, modification and engineering activities safely, on time and within allocated budget.

       Serves as main point of contact for regional leads.  Ensures that department and staff can provide manpower, facilities, equipment and tooling necessary to meet operational goals and that this effort represents efficient utilization of allocated resources.

       Communicates daily with the DOM to relay questions, comments and concerns raised by the regional teams.

       Continually review the overall maintenance effort to assure maximum safety and operating efficiency at a minimum cost.

       Will assist the regional teams with any heavy maintenance requests as needed.

       Evaluate mid-level management for efficacy, strengths and help to mitigate any weaknesses within their teams.

       Assist with recruitment of new employees in addition to building a strong team culture.

       Will mediate internal issues with the regional teams and will escalate to the DOM as needed.

       Oversight of the General Operations Manual and General Maintenance Manual standards for operational performance, personnel qualifications, and quality assurance

       Manages and oversees maintenance and repairs on all Apollo MedFlight aircraft.

       Work closely with Quality Department to:

o   Maintain professional currency regarding FAR updates and changes, maintenance procedures and techniques, ADs, Advisory Circulars (ACs), aircraft manufacturers data and industry developments

o   Ensure Part 135 aircraft maintenance operations comply with applicable FARs, governing law, and company policies and procedures.

o   Recommend General Operations Manual standards for operational performance, personnel qualifications, and quality assurance.

o   Ensure all maintenance technicians are certified and supervised according to requirements specified in the FAR for Part 135 operations.

o   Collaborate to review all major aircraft repairs or modifications to Apollo MedFlight leased or owned aircraft: coordinate the same with FAA if required and report recommendations to the DOM.

o   Communicate daily fleet status, including scheduled maintenance and inspections, to the DOM and Chief Pilot to facilitate scheduling.

       Work with Director of Quality and Training and Lead Regional Maintenance Managers to develop individual recurrent training program for each assigned mechanic.

       Coordinate with Director of Quality and Training to maintain maintenance training records.

       Will positively represent Apollo MedFlight to customers, employees and patients through action, behavior and communication.

       Will actively participate in the Apollo MedFlight safety program.

       Will meet or exceed the requirements listed in the job description.

       Performs Other duties as assigned.

 MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

        10 years’ experience in maintenance, repair and return to service.

        FAA Airframe and Power plant certificate required.

        Inspection Authorization preferred.

        Prior supervisory experience management of aviation maintenance staff servicing aircraft required.

        Up to 50 of travel to all locations within the company required.

        Strong leadership and interpersonal relationship skills required.

        Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, react to dispatch/airworthiness issues, and make decisions under time pressure.

        High level of concentration, attention to detail, ability to read technical manuals and interpret maintenance data.

        Ability to gain security clearance for airport locations.

        Driver’s License.

        Regular and reliable attendance.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

        Experience in Part 135 maintenance repair.
