Job Description
Join a dynamic team as an Aircraft Structures Mechanic with the opportunity to work on complex aircraft assemblies. This position offers two shifts: 1st shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and 2nd shift from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM. The role requires assembling aircraft sheet metal assemblies and subassemblies, as well as reading and interpreting work orders, blueprints, and sketches to determine the sequence of operations.
Responsibilities
- Assemble aircraft sheet metal assemblies and subassemblies, including mating stress-critical joints.
- Read and understand work orders, blueprints, sketches, and operation station sheets to determine the sequence of operations, fastener type, size, and hole patterns.
- Align and build assemblies and subassemblies on large, complex manufacturing jigs and fixtures.
- Drill, countersink, dimple, ream, and chamfer holes on complex structural assemblies for a variety of fasteners with minimal quality defects.
- Effectively use all required hand and power tools, including portable riveting guns, pneumatic guns, pneumatic drills, counter sinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, rivets, C-squeeze, ratchet wrench, nut runner, torque wrenches, crimpers, and cable tools.
- Perform inspections and assessments, including analysis of scrap damage, corrosion, or wear and tear of structures.
- Troubleshoot and rework major discrepancies as necessary, serving as the primary point of contact for repairs and modifications due to customer or design changes.
- Maintain designed tolerances, edge distance, and pitch per engineering requirements.
- Measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions and use check gauges to inspect holes and fastener tolerance.
- Apply sealants on structural components, such as fillet and fay seal, as required per engineering.
- Collaborate with the Production Supervisor and engineering to implement modifications and upgrades to improve performance and safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills- 5-7+ years of experience preferred for Level III or higher positions (34-38/hour)

Work Environment
The work environment is deadline-intensive, requiring overtime in most positions. The dress code includes closed-toed shoes, long pants, and appropriate t-shirts. Safety requirements include wearing steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection when necessary. The facility is well-lit, climate-controlled, and provides all necessary tools and equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, Florida.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $34.00/hr.
