The Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained during all phases of aircraft maintenance. This includes technical inspections, audits, training, and guidance to maintenance personnel, as well as verifying compliance with applicable technical directives, regulations, and standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs quality technical inspections of aircraft, aircraft components, parts, repairs, and systems (including avionics, electrical, instruments, and armament) as required by functional assignment.
- Performs quality and safety inspections of on-site equipment and tools used in aircraft maintenance, vehicles, and related equipment.
- Performs initial, in-progress, and final quality technical inspections during maintenance, repair, modification, rework, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and related equipment.
- Provides technical guidance, instructions, and interpretation of written instructions and procedures to mechanics as required to ensure acceptable quality of work and flight line services.
- Assists in the preparation, processing, and answering of Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDRs).
- Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, technical manuals, and use measuring instruments, gauges, tools, and test equipment in the performance of duties.
- Monitors compliance, conducts audits, and provides guidance related to Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) programs, including Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Confined Space, Lockout-Tagout, and Fall Protection.
- Must show proficient use of OOMA within 90 days after assignment.
Requirements:
- 4 years’ experience as a Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) on CH/MH-53E.
- Must have completed NALCOMIS (Optimized) Organizational Level Maintenance Activity (OMA) Quality Assurance Administration Course (C-555-0046).
- Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- High school diploma or equivalent (General Educational Development certificate).
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, push, pull and manipulate 50lbs independently when needed.
- Must be able to climb on ladders if needed.
- Must be able to repeatedly enter and exit aircraft using stationary steps/stairs.
- Position involves long periods of standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, crawling on aircraft structure and around aircraft for maintenance functions.
- Position may require working in a confined workspace.
- Position my require use / exposure to fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids and cleaning solvents.
- Position is located in a high noise area within an aircraft hangar / flightline environment.
- FIT for Duty Physical is required.
- May require DOT and Respiratory Physicals.
