Contract Position
Pay Estimated: $56.52 - $61.52/Hour

Join a cross-functional engineering team driving the design and development of advanced autonomous subsea vehicles and systems. We are seeking a mechanical engineer passionate about innovation and delivering cutting-edge solutions to our customers in the undersea domain.
   
Responsibilities:
 - Design, prototype, and refine mechanical components for subsea platforms and autonomous vehicles (AUVs/UUVs). 
- Collaborate across disciplines (electrical, systems, software) to develop integrated hardware solutions. 
- Utilize SolidWorks for 3D modeling and PTC Windchill for product data management (PDM). 
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure precision and fit in complex assemblies. 
- Support prototype assembly, testing, and iterative design improvements throughout the development lifecycle. 
   
Qualifications:
 - U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering/scientific discipline(Master’s degree with 3+ years, or Bachelor’s with 5+ years of relevant experience) 
- Experience in the Undersea Domain, particularly related to autonomous or unmanned underwater vehicles (AUVs/UUVs) 
- Hands-on experience assembling mechanical prototypes and systems 
- Proficiency with SolidWorks MCAD and PTC Windchill PDM 
- Familiarity with GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5) 
- Demonstrated ability to support full product lifecycle, from concept to production 
- On-site work and occasional travel may be required 
Preferred Qualifications:
 - Deep knowledge of autonomous subsea systems, including underwater navigation, hydrodynamics, and marine-grade materials 
- Experience with pressure-rated enclosures, sealing systems, or subsea actuation mechanisms 
- Passion for innovation and ongoing technical development
