STS Technical Services is hiring A&P Technicians in Nashville, Tennessee. If you’re an experienced aircraft mechanic with an FAA A&P license and a strong background in inspection, maintenance, and repair, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team.
Job Description
Examine, repair, assemble, and test aircraft accessories such as engines, power brake units, auxiliary electric motors, carburetors, spark igniters, valves, pumps, fuselage, wings, and oil and fuel tanks using hand tools and testing devices while following shop orders and manufacturer specifications.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections or special maintenance to prevent failures of aircraft mechanical systems and components
- Conduct operations checks on hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, plumbing, precision assemblies, rigging and controls
- Determine when components should be repaired or replaced and secure necessary parts from Stores or departmental supplies
- Repair, rework, and modify worn or defective assemblies, making alterations or changes as needed
- Follow approved maintenance procedures, consulting FAA-approved internal procedures, OEM technical data, and work package instructions
- Consult the Maintenance Lead if technical assistance is required during repairs
- Inspect completed work before sign off, perform rework, and ensure repaired components meet standards and tolerances
- Perform serviceability tests on repaired components/systems using OEM-specified test equipment
- Complete work package documentation by signing/stamping after finishing all designated operations
- Submit completed/in-progress work to Maintenance Lead and Quality Assurance for review and re-certification of airworthiness
- Provide supervisor with performance statistics and operational data, as requested
- Accurately account for time and materials used in all inspection and maintenance activities
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma / GED
- FAA A&P License
Experience
- A&P License with 2–5 years of small aircraft / general aviation experience
- Several years of recent depot-level aircraft maintenance and repair experience (mechanical systems, components, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, rigging, etc.)
- Proficiency with OEM technical data and work package instructions
- Skilled with power and pneumatic hand tools
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong technical knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance
- Knowledge of FAA requirements for aircraft maintenance procedures
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply manufacturer and FAA-approved work instructions
- Strong troubleshooting, installation, and equipment maintenance skills
- Customer service focus with strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to assist advanced technicians on complex assignments
Working Conditions / Special Requirements
- Must work safely and comply with OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulations
- Must be able to wear a respirator (per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134) with no restrictions
- Ability to work flexible hours and shifts as required
- Subject to FAA-mandated random drug and alcohol testing
