As a Ground Interior Designer you’ll play a key role in bringing Virgin Atlantic’s brand and customer experience to life across our ground environments, from Clubhouses and airport lounges to check in zones and operational spaces. From time to time, you may also work on projects that include onboard and service experiences.

Working within our Experience Design team, you’ll ideate, design and deliver inspiring, high-quality interiors that embody Virgin Atlantic’s design values and deliver exceptional experiences for our customers and people.

You’ll collaborate closely with teams across the business and external agency partners, to ensure every design detail reflects our brand DNA, bold, original and unmistakably Virgin.

As Ground Interior Designer, you will

  • Engage in design projects from concept to completion, following an insight led development process including ideation, testing and implementation
  • Design and develop ground and airport interiors, ensuring every environment reflects Virgin Atlantic’s unique brand and delivers a premium customer experience
  • Translate business and customer needs into creative concepts and tangible design outcomes that are operationally practical and maintainable
  • Partner with internal teams such as Airports, Clubhouse, Property and Facilities and Inflight Services to ensure design excellence from start to finish
  • Work with and manage external design agencies, contractors and manufacturers to deliver best in class interiors that meet cost, quality and timing targets
  • Support tender processes and act as the key liaison during on site design development and implementation
  • Monitor trends in design, architecture and materials, bringing fresh thinking and innovation into every project
  • Champion Virgin Atlantic’s design principles, ensuring quality, safety and sustainability are embedded in every solution

You’re a creative and conceptual thinker with a passion for spatial and interior design that enhances customer experiences. You combine aesthetic flair with a practical mindset and thrive in a collaborative, fast paced environment.

We’re looking for someone who has

  • Degree level qualification in a design related discipline such as interior design, architecture or colour, material and finish, or equivalent on the job experience
  • Proven experience delivering commercial or hospitality interior design projects from concept through to execution
  • Strong skills in 2D and 3D design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Enscape
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to present ideas and influence decisions
  • The ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously, balancing creativity with operational and commercial realities
  • A keen eye for trends and innovations in materials, finishes and design processes
  • The ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, taking responsibility for quality, cost and timeliness of delivery

It would be great if you also have

  • Experience specifying furniture and finishes within high end hospitality or retail environments
  • Familiarity with design development in an aviation, transport or travel context
