As a Principal Systems Engineer on the Strategic Solutions engineering team, we will equip you with the opportunities and resources necessary to develop your expertise in the systems engineering lifecycle. You will have the opportunity to learn from top professionals in the communications and nuclear deterrence sectors at Collins Aerospace. This role will be part of a geographically distributed team responsible for the integration of our satellite communications capabilities. This position is for onsite work in Richardson, TX.
YOU will participate in the systems development lifecycle, developing typical systems artifacts that include trade studies, system design, requirements definition, requirements allocation, requirement traceability, ICD creation, systems integration, verification testing and qualification.
You will build invaluable experience collaborating with our RF communication experts, certification specialists, customer base, and engineering team, learning exactly what it takes to deliver a cutting-edge SATCOM solution while employing next-generation systems engineering tools and processes.
You will gain valuable experience through opportunities to lead, including roles such as Subject Matter Expert, Scrum Master, Product Owner, CAM, or Systems Lead
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Experience designing, developing, and integrating satellite communication systems for end users
Recent and relevant experience with the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements capture, decomposition, system design, integration, verification, and validation. Demonstrated understanding of fundamental systems engineering deliverables, such as requirements specifications, interface control documents, and verification matrices.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience in defining requirements and working collaboratively with hardware teams to ensure components meet system-level requirements, integrate effectively with software, and comply with physical, environmental, and operational constraints.
Experience with MIL-STD hardened environments, ensuring compliance with military specifications for ruggedness, durability, and security.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
