The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Optimisation Engineer, responsible for:
- Assessing Maintenance closing reports / RMP recommendations for alterations to the approved class maintenance plan.
- Assessing failure data, crew feedback, usage data, equipment logs to identify improvements to the respective class approved maintenance plan.
- Working with the maintenance team to conduct crew / operator liaison to identify maintenance issues.
- Developing and progressing changes to the class maintenance baseline via the configuration management system.
- Liaison with the respective Shipbuilder to identify common class baseline issues/data that can be used for RAN Minor Vessel fleet (i.e. from common platform system requirement for example.
- Conducting engineering investigations and related technical research for ship repair, modifications and updates.
- Contributing to the development of plans, methodology, processes and tools of Maintenance Optimisation.
- This role will work closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across the country, to develop and maintain effective relationships to deliver quality outcomes.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in the content and usage of Defence maritime sustainment artefacts.
- Demonstrated experience in the usage and management of maintenance systems and the conduct of maintenance within an asset management system.
- Good interpersonal skills to work with Defence, CASG, other MV Enterprise contractors.
- Good analytical skills to assess and interpret material status of complex maritime plant and supporting data
- Tertiary Qualification in relevant engineering discipline (e.g. electrical, electronic, structural or mechanical backgrounds); holding as a minimum tertiary qualifications and professional development sufficient to attain recognition as CPEng with Engineers Australia in a relevant engineering stream.
- Experience in effectively representing engineering professional services to both internal and external customers.
- Previous exposure to Defence projects desirable
- Exposure to Defence Logistics Toolset desirable
- Ability to work in team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a NV1 Defence Security Clearance. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
