Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a MRB Engineer.
- Full time, permanent position
- 39 hours per week
- Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB.
- Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.
To be the Quality and business lead for the site MRB process and be a change driver to reduce scrap by leading cross functional improvement in a matrix environment through analytic data driven methodologies using industry standards for problem solving.

Essential Responsibilities
- Build cross functional relationships
- Set business wide MRB meeting cadence and rhythm with key areas and stakeholders
- Facilitate cross functional working sessions using industry standard problem solving. Fishbone, 5Y
- Prepare, utilise and share standard documentation/templates in line with operating system framework
- Demonstrate improvement against standard
- Supporting other related daily regular operating cadences
- Customer facing interface / POC for product defect investigations through MRB
- Data driven and analytics
- Compilation and maintenance of defect / investigation KPI’s
- Drive DMAIC RCCA product improvement projects
Position Requirements
Academic:
- Engineering apprenticeship or higher education qualification in a technical subject, with a minimum qualification of HNC/HND or equivalent technical / leadership experience
Experience:
- Manufacturing / Aerospace
- Lean / Six Sigma
- AS9100
- NADCAP
- Audit experience would be beneficial
Key Competencies:
- Effective communicator
- Data driven (KPI’s)
- Analytically minded
Other skills/Abilities
Skills:
- Comfortable in action planning
- Comfortable in holding stakeholders accountable
- Confident leading group cross functional DMAIC / RCCA working sessions / workshops
- A good level of I.T. skills (Microsoft, MRP etc.)
Abilities:
- The job requires good communications ability for the purpose of providing, giving and exchanging information to other employees, departments and people external to the organisation
Personal Attributes:
- Personable, organised with the ability to multi-task and deliver to agreed timescales
