Contract Position
$24.67-$34.54/Hour   
Support the fabrication, assembly, and testing of mechanical, electrical, and avionics components in a safety- and FOD-sensitive environment, ensuring high-quality builds that meet aerospace and defense standards.
   
Responsibilities:
Perform hands-on fabrication, assembly, and testing for aerospace-grade components and systems.
 - Fabricate structural, mechanical, and electrical components per engineering drawings and 3D CAD models 
- Assemble precision mechanical, electro-mechanical, and avionics components, including wire harnesses and power plants 
- Perform machining, welding, sheet metal work, tube bending, and composite lay-up 
- Install and integrate electronic devices, avionics sensors, accelerometers, strain gauges, and instrumentation 
- Conduct soldering, crimping, and wiring to aerospace standards 
- Build and validate prototypes, perform fit checks and functional tests, and troubleshoot to meet design intent 
- Maintain process documentation and comply with quality, cleanliness, and safety standards in Controlled Work Areas (CWA) 
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to resolve design, manufacturability, or integration challenges 
   
   
Qualifications:
 - High school diploma or GED plus 1+ years of relevant fabrication, assembly, or electrical experience 
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform precise measurements and mechanical troubleshooting 
- Proficiency interpreting 2D engineering drawings and 3D CAD models (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) 
- Experience with hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and fabrication equipment 
- Background in FOD-sensitive environments, ideally in automotive, aerospace, or military applications 
Preferred Qualifications:
 - Former or current military experience, with familiarity in military standards and safety-critical environments 
- 3+ years fabrication/assembly experience including metalwork, welding, soldering, riveting, and wiring/ECU integration 
- Experience in prototype builds and small production runs for aerospace or defense projects
