Job Summary
The Community Planner shall provide community planning services which are comprised of site and facility information support, installation planning support and facility management support. This discipline shall be responsible for validating new project requirements against the Installation Development Plan and managing the supporting sub-component plans within.
Principal Accountabilities
The contractor shall assist in the management of the Airfield Waiver Program, Airfield and Heliport Planning and Design.
The contractor shall participate in project design reviews and other activities related to siting and planning actions including the Environmental Impact Analysis process and the management of planning contracts.
The contractor shall provide technical advice on a variety of planning issues and special studies including planning related GeoBase Data Layers.
The contractor shall review, process, and approve/disapprove airfield waiver requests to assure Base Master Plan (BMP) elements are adhered to.
Shall perform other qualified duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
Ability to follow spoken instructions.
Ability to interact professionally with all levels of employees, managers and customers.
Knowledge of various computer programs required (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook).
Exercise good judgment, ability to multitask and work under time constraints.
Ability to work independently with good decision-making skills.
Extensive working knowledge of and ability to regularly utilize AutoCAD 2010 or later.
Experience & Education
Shall have at least three (3) years of experience
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent with a degree preferred.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
