Crew Resources is looking for curious, operationally minded, analytics professionals to execute the planning, allocation, and delivery of crew member resources across the operation. Our team works within the operating window to solve problems and deliver crew resources where, and when they are needed by the operation.
As an analyst, you will leverage data and technology to determine the best allocation of crew resources within given constraints. This is a strategic role that works closely with our internal partners in IT, Finance, Crew Technology, and Operations Management. The role is focused on driving Delta’s short and long-term business priorities.
More specifically, you will be responsible for these items (and more)
  • Drive divisional strategy by daily execution of operational decisions
  • Allocate system resources at the best possible cost
  • Drive process change and the adoption of new tools across the team
  • Manage crew member trip logistics, including hotel assignment software
To do so, these individuals will partner with other team members on projects, communicate effectively, build cross-divisional partnerships, and maintain a strong operational foundation. This role will be predominantly shift based and may encompass weekends to support the 24/7 nature of operations technology. The successful candidates will be trained in legacy systems and will be expected to maintain a comprehensive knowledge of both next-generation technology and the legacy systems to manage operational disruption, while also serving as a real time end user of next generation products to solve complex operational problems.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
  • Partner cross divisionally with crew technology owners, Flight Operations and IFS stakeholders, diverse IT teams, and analytics partners to provide meaningful feedback and development direction based on operational utility of optimization solutions as well as adherence to business rules, applicable FARs, and cost and safety conscious practices
  • Assist the product owner execute the development roadmap that balances business value, funding, cross-initiative dependencies, and development complexity that guides current and future development
  • Assist in writing functional user stories and acceptance criteria that enable a smooth handoff to development
  • Assist in defining value of new functionality and ensure that the product meets the needs and goals of Crew Resources and crewmembers
  • Operate with comfort in legacy systems and processes to identify areas of improvement 
  • Develop subject matter expertise for crew related data and systems that can be translated into optimal design and development
  • Model Deltas Rules of the Road and core values
  • Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • College degree preferred, or one year of demonstrated business experience in strategy, execution and change management
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking capabilities
  • Operational mindset with an understanding of technology’s role in the OCC and crew space with a proven ability to translate business goals into real-world operational outcomes using optimization products
  • Verbally present ideas succinctly and persuasively; demonstrate logical thinking when responding to questions or providing alternative solutions
  • Exhibit curiosity and think creatively to help identify solutions
  • Self-starter with the ability to work well with diverse groups in a time sensitive and team environment with minimal supervision
  • Results oriented and capable of meeting or exceeding deadlines with attention to detail and follow through 
  • Flexibility as projects and tasks required change from day to day and week to week
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking and styles
  • Must be performing satisfactorily in present position (if transferring internally)
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or Technology
  • Experience as a co-op or intern at Delta or another company 
  • Awareness of Data Analysis and Data Visualization concepts and tools.
